Week of Prayer for World Peace

11 – 18 October ’09

world peace

Please come and join us at St James Church,

71 Woburn Road, Lower Hutt,

as we join with people throughout the world

each day for 8 days, praying for peace in our world.

There will be a short and simple reflective time of prayer each day, beginning with the bell sounding for a minute at noon.

With words and silence, using short readings from a variety of religious traditions, and praying each day for a different part of the world, the prayer time will last until 12.15pm each day.

On Saturday 17 October, the 15 minutes of prayer will be preceded by

half an hour of silent prayer for those who would like to gather for longer, and will be followed by a simple meal, provided by St James.

Please spread the word and be part of the prayer, showing our solidarity with those around the world who long for peace, true peace, deep peace in our hearts, our world, our universe.
